Our sleepy little village is one of Norfolk’s best kept secrets, but now it looks like the secret may be out as national TV descends on Hemsby to capture some of our unique way of life.
BBC1’s The One Show will be on Hemsby beach on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th Dec for a special report on Hemsby’s disappearing coastline and the efforts to preserve it.
Volunteers are already hard at work building concrete sea defences and gabion cages for rock fill, but more labouring assistance is very welcome. If you don’t fancy hard labour, then why not offer some moral support by cheering on the volunteers?
As well as the One Show cameras, the beach will play host to Dial a Dog Clean, who will be cleaning dogs for charity, plus a charity fun night at 6 on Thursday at the Lacon Arms, with the BBC film crew in attendance.
So if you fancy helping with this important local preservation project, trying to get on TV or you just want to show your support and enjoy a fun day on the beach, make sure you’re at the Lacon Arms at 6 tonight, and on the beach at 10 tomorrow morning!
